Utility-Scale Boilers
Since designing the world's first utility-scale boiler for the generation of power, our boilers and technologies are now providing more than 300,000 MW of generating capacity worldwide. Depending on the application and available fuels, our large-capacity boilers include both supercritical and subcritical steam conditions and fluidized-bed combustion technology.
Renewable Energy Boilers
Our renewable energy boilers include mass burn (MSW) or refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for waste-to-energy applications and combustion of a wide range of biomass materials, including wood chips, pellets, construction waste, wheat straw, barley, rice straw, bark and biogas. Our stoker/grate-fired and fluidized-bed technologies are often the best choice for these applications.
Industrial/Water-Tube Package Boilers
Our industrial water-tube package boilers, Stirling® and Towerpak® power boilers, and fluidized-bed boilers are custom engineered to each project’s unique specifications for varying inputs and desired outputs.
Heat Recovery Steam Generators
We provide reliable HRSG systems, upgrades and replacement components such as harps (high pressure evaporators), headers, finned tubing and other pressure parts suitable for a wide range of combustion turbine applications.
Circulating Fluidized-Bed Boilers
Drawing upon our extensive technical expertise and operating experience, B&W developed the Internal Recirculation Circulating Fluidized-Bed (IR-CFB) boiler which is the technology of choice for power plant owners seeking economy, reliability and flexibility.
Bubbling Fluidized-Bed Boilers

Pulp & Paper
B&W's single-drum recovery boiler, now the standard in the pulp and paper industry, provides high availability with safe operation and low maintenance. We have been at the forefront of technologies which improve boiler and cycle efficiency, such as firing higher solids concentration liquors, using low pressure steam to heat combustion air, and feedwater heating.
Parts & Services
B&W provides modifications, improvements and in-kind replacements of boiler pressure parts and non-pressure parts, and for all boiler-related components such as pulverizers or mills, burners, ignitors, air heaters, sootblowers, and ash handling equipment.
