READ MOREThe Integrated Resource-Recovery Facility: a new model for waste thermal treatment
Achieving sustainability goals requires creative and economic solutions for addressing non-recyclable waste. A new report published by ESWET highlights the main features of integrated resource-recovery facilities as a solution for carbon-negative residual waste treatment and the policy framework needed to support them.
CHECK OUT THE REPORTAutomated spout cleaning improves safety of plant personnel at pulp and paper mills
The most dangerous task in recovery boiler maintenance is rodding smelt. The Diamond Power® SpoutRunner™ system automates this process, minimizing operators' time spent around the volatile spout deck. It uses gravity and pneumatic force to travel up and down the spout with a custom-designed cleaning head.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT ASMEPROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Chanute, Kansas
Our manufacturing team in Chanute, Kansas, recently completed and found a creative solution for transporting three package boilers from the assembly shop into its onsite storage facility prior to their shipment to a customer in Kentucky. The radio-controlled “jeep trailer” with hydraulic and pneumatic functionality was a safe, cost-effective and time-efficient solution for moving the units.
MORE ON B&W CHANUTE CAPABILITIESAsked&Answered: Effects of moisture in flue gas
Q: Should we be concerned with moisture in flue gas?
A: While not a pollutant, moisture in the flue gas can negatively affect downstream equipment. A direct contact cooler (DCC) recirculates liquid, cooling the flue gas so that moisture condenses. The DCC can often be designed for acid gas removal as well.
