About the Seminar

July 23-24, 2019  |  CEU: 1.6

This seminar features separate tracks for B&W Roll Wheel and E/EL pulverizer training and includes tours of B&W’s Copley service center and ASB Industries, Inc.’s service center.

Who Should Attend?

This seminar is designed for operators, engineers and maintenance personnel who need familiarization with the design, operation and maintenance requirements of pulverizers, including the B&W Roll Wheel and/or E/EL pulverizers. Although some topics are engineering-oriented, participants without an engineering degree can greatly benefit from this seminar.

Andrew is a Mechanical Engineer with Field Engineering experience on B&W boilers, pulverizers, burners and ignitors, and root cause analysis of pulverizer problems and failures. Andrew has been presenting and training on B&W Roll WheelTM and E/EL pulverizers since 1990. He has been working in Field Service, Pulverizer Design, International Project Engineering, and Replacement Parts since 1977 and was a co-contributor for two pulverizer patents.

Mark Peruski

Mark Peruski

Mark is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has been with Babcock & Wilcox for 39 years, mostly in the field. He has worked extensively on both the operational and mechanical aspect of pulverizers. Mark worked with coals ranging from Eastern Bituminous coal to Powder River Basin coal. He also has extensive experience with fluidized bed boilers and stoker fired boilers. He holds a patent for a fluidized bed combustion system.

Eric Fuller

Eric Fuller

Eric has over 21 years of pulverizer and fuel preparation experience at B&W and one patent titled “System for Controlling Coal Flow in a Coal Pulverizer.” Eric spent the first eight years in Pulverizer Graphics working with designers and engineers refining the pulverizer product and bringing new ideas to fruition. Eric then spent two years with B&W’s Field Service and his time was spent doing pulverizer rebuilds and upgrades at sites across the United States. Installing rotating throat assemblies are what he remembers most after completing a lot of the drawings used during his time in Pulverizer Graphics. He cites thoroughly understanding the design of the products in his success with installing the products in the field.

Eric then transferred to Pulverizer Design Engineering where he spent lots of time designing new pulverizer products for the replacement parts business and a completely new design for the B&W-118 Roll Wheel Pulverizer. Eric has experience with just about every facet of the pulverizer and has been mentored by some of the best pulverizer engineers in the industry.

Eric spends a lot of his time at B&W’s service center advising on gearbox rebuilds, quality issues with parts and other assembly procedures that the shop may have questions on. He is also involved with the competitor parts initiative. His most gratifying experience was installing the product he has a patent on, seeing it operate correctly and achieving the targeted numbers predicted.
