Financial results announced
Earlier this month, B&W announced fourth quarter and full year 2020 financial results. "Our results ... reflect the ongoing positive impact of our strategic actions, cost savings initiatives, and strong management and operational effectiveness, despite the impacts of COVID-19 across our segments, and we are confident in our ability to achieve our previously stated adjusted EBITDA targets of $70-$80 million and $95-$105 million, in 2021 and 2022, respectively," said Kenneth Young, B&W's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
B&W was contracted to build the water pipe, or penstock system, for the Hoover Dam in 1932 (Nevada, USA). Due to their immense size, the penstocks could not be shipped by rail, so B&W built a fabricating plant nearby. Upon the dam's completion, it was often called the eighth wonder of the world.
