Utility Boiler Operations & Maintenance Seminar

August 20-22, 2019 - Akron, Ohio

About the Seminar

August 20-22, 2019  |  CEU: 1.8 / PDH: 18

Seminar Description:

This seminar provides knowledge and skills for proper operation and maintenance of large boilers used for electric power production.

The seminar is designed specifically for utilities using pulverized coal as a primary fuel source. Covered in the course are boiler and boiler component design, safety, inspection, maintenance, firing systems and pulverizers, and methods for overall increased boiler availability and reliability.

This one technical training will net 18 professional development hours or 1.8 continuing education units.

Who Should Attend?

The seminar is intended for operators, engineers and maintenance personnel who need familiarization with the design, operation and maintenance requirements of pulverized coal-fired boilers. The topics are designed for mid-level operation and maintenance personnel. Although some topics are engineering-oriented, participants without an engineering degree can greatly benefit from this seminar.

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEU)

Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) is offering each attendee the opportunity to earn CEUs through The University of Akron’s UA Solutions Program. A CEU is a unit of credit for participation in an accredited program designed for professionals with certificates or licenses to practice various professions. One contact/training hour equals 0.1 CEU.
