Andrew Jackson Headshot

Andrew Jackson, P.E.
Pulverizers, Burners & Ignitors

Andrew is a Mechanical Engineer with vast, in-depth field engineering experience in servicing B&W boilers, pulverizers, burners and ignitors, and performing root cause analysis of pulverizer problems and failures. Andrew has been presenting and training on B&W Roll Wheel and E/EL pulverizers since 1990. He draws from a career that has spanned Field Service, Pulverizer Design, International Project Engineering, and Replacement Parts since 1977. He was a co-contributor for two pulverizer patents.

Eric Fuller Headshot

Eric Fuller
Pulverizer Design Engineering & Door SME

Eric has over 28 years of pulverizer design and fuel preparation experience, including a patent for the system for controlling coal flow in a pulverizer. He supports the Copley Service Center by advising on gearbox builds, part‑quality issues, and assembly procedures, while also providing technical guidance to B&W's other service centers around the world. Eric works closely with B&W’s sublet fabricators as well, frequently troubleshooting remotely through live video sessions.

Eric also serves as B&W’s internal Door SME, handling all questions related to pulverizer, boiler, and specialty doors. He is highly skilled in reverse engineering and 3D modeling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, which he's used since 1987. His background includes nationwide field work on pulverizer rebuilds and major contributions to key product innovations. One of his proudest career achievements is seeing his patented design installed and performing beyond expectations.

Field Service Engineer - Competitor Pulverizers

With decades of hands-on experience in the power generation and industrial sectors, Lamar is a seasoned Field Service Engineer specializing in competitor/CE pulverizers. Known for delivering expert technical support, diagnostics, and maintenance solutions in demanding field environments, he brings extensive knowledge of pulverizer performance optimization, rebuilds, and troubleshooting. Lamar has a proven track record of reducing downtime and improving efficiency across diverse customer sites, leveraging a deep understanding of legacy and modern CE pulverizer systems. Committed to safety, precision, and customer satisfaction, he serves as a trusted technical resource for plant operators and maintenance teams nationwide.

Craig Whaley
Field Service Engineer

With 37 years of experience in the power generation and industrial sectors, Craig is a highly skilled Field Service Engineer specializing in E/EL pulverizers. He is recognized for providing expert on-site support, from troubleshooting and performance tuning to complete rebuilds and preventative maintenance. Craig’s deep technical knowledge of E/EL pulverizers has helped clients significantly reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency. Dedicated to safety, accuracy, and customer service, he is a trusted partner to plant operators and maintenance teams across the country.

Mike Bauer
MillCare® Program Manager
Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., LLC

Mike has 29 years with Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) and currently serves as MillCare® Program Manager for B&W Construction Co., LLC (BWCC). He joined B&W in 1997 after a decade in the U.S. Army. Starting as a Field Service Engineer, Mike supported engineering and construction, pulverizer rebuilds, boiler inspections, and training—primarily for paper mills and power plants in the Southeast.

In 2012, he moved to BWCC, managing full-scale pulverizer maintenance programs, contract execution, project planning, and field staff supervision. He brings extensive hands-on experience with B&W and competitor pulverizers.

Training Sessions (Tuesday to Thursday)

Training begins at 8:00 AM on Tuesday and wraps up at 1:00 PM on Thursday—packed with valuable insights you won't want to miss! Meals and Transportation 

We understand staying focused can be a challenge on an empty stomach, so we’ll keep you fueled with a variety of great options throughout the seminar. Here’s what’s included:

  • Breakfast: Start your day right with breakfast served daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM in the Garden Grille at Hilton Garden Inn Akron. Breakfast is included with the discounted hotel block rate.
  • Lunch & Snacks: Sessions will break throughout the day with lunch served in the lounge. Snacks and refreshments will be available in the training room.

A discounted early‑bird rate of $1,275 is available through June 12, 2026. Beginning June 13, 2026, the registration rate increases to $1,475. Attendees are encouraged to register by the June 12 deadline to secure the reduced rate.

B&W is offering attendees the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through The University of Akron. A CEU is a nationally recognized measure of participation in accredited professional development programs, with one contact/training hour equal to 0.1 CEU.

Certificates will be issued via email by The University of Akron to attendees who:

  • Indicated interest during registration
  • Signed all required daily attendance sheets
  • Complete a post‑event assessment form

Registered attendees may cancel up to ten business days prior to the start of the seminar and receive a full refund. Cancellations received within ten business days of the seminar will incur a fee of 50% of the registration cost.

Attendees who wish to cancel or transfer their registration to another individual need to submit an inquiry.
