Wet electrostatic precipitators (ESP) provide high efficiency control of acid mists from the SO2-rich gas stream in sulfuric acid plants.
Wet ESPs
The collection of acid mists consisting of fine particulate has been accomplished with wet ESPs for more than 100 years, primarily on industrial processes. However, with expanded emission control requirements, reduced emission limits, use of non-traditional fuels, and the interactions of other emissions control equipment, there has been renewed interest in the use of wet ESPs to control selected emissions, especially sulfuric acid mist (H2SO4) and fine particulates in utility applications. Our wet ESPs are a proven polishing filter for the reduction of sulfuric acid mist and fine particulates, condensed metal fumes and organics, especially where a wet solution is preferred for the maximization of condensable particulate capture.
Our dry sorbent injection (DSI) systems, in combination with dry ESPs, support a multi-pollutant control application. Our experience includes installations in a variety of applications to mitigate acid gas emissions.
We consistently demonstrate the ability to successfully execute innovative solutions for our customers, from new equipment to large, complex full-scope engineering and construction projects.
