Wet Cooling Systems

B&W SPIG can supply both mechanical and natural draft wet cooling tower systems and design for a wide range of project specifications such as high seismic loads, vibration control, corrosion resistance, noise control, sub-freezing operation, and seawater use. Cooling towers can be manufactured using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP), concrete or wood.

Dry Cooling Systems

Dry cooling technology, both air-cooled condensers (ACC) and air fin coolers (AFC), represent a substantial portion of B&W SPIG’s global business, as water preservation is increasingly becoming a priority for plant owners and operators.

Hybrid Cooling Systems

B&W SPIG environmentally friendly wet/dry (hybrid) cooling towers are the optimal solution for plume abatement and water saving. Hybrid cooling towers are specifically designed to avoid visible plume in cold, humid ambient conditions and when local constraints require this technology, such as at airports, residential areas, etc.

SPIG S.p.A. (B&W SPIG) operates globally supplying an extensive range of turnkey cooling systems. We design plants for a wide range of project requirements such as high seismic and wind loads, vibration control, corrosion resistance, low-noise emission, sub-freezing operation, and seawater applications.

New Headquarter in Paruzzaro

 

Our headquarter in Paruzzaro, Italy, is home for engineering, sales, project management, procurement, logistics, quality control, administration, and other specialized service functions. In addition, more than 500 square meters of laboratory space was built for R&D purposes.

More than 8000 square meters of indoor and outdoor warehouse space is available to store parts and other equipment. The warehouse is equipped with three loading docks and includes a bar-coding system to enable timely deliveries.

In 2020 we completed the installation of a state-of-the-art research facility to test components for wet and dry technologies. At this specialized technology center, a dedicated team of experienced R&D engineers conduct thermal performance research on filling and nozzles, drift eliminator efficiency testing, noise tests on a variety of components, nozzle efficiency testing, and multi-row bundle testing, among many other tests. These activities are aimed to improve product quality, performance and dependability.
