The increased emphasis on planned cycling operation of new fossil fuel fired boiler turbine generator units has placed new demands on the control of boilers during start-up and low load operation. The needs and limitations are discussed and recommendations made for boiler start-up and control systems for start-up and operation of the boiler and turbine together.
