Ash and Material Handling
Engineered systems for a range of applications

Bottom Ash Systems

Allen-Sherman-Hoff Ash Handling Hydrobin

In addition to providing operational and environmental benefits, B&W's Allen-Sherman-Hoff® bottom ash systems are a reliable and cost-effective alternative to ash storage ponds. Systems include Hydrobin® dewatering systems, dry bottom ash conveyer systems, submerged chain conveyor for under-the-boiler ash removal from the water-impounded hopper, and remote dewatering systems for bottom ash dewatering and water recycling.

Fly Ash Systems

B&W's Allen-Sherman-Hoff® fly ash systems are a reliable, low maintenance, cost-effective means to minimize the use of plant process water and utilize FGD wastewater.  Designs include conventional fly ash and scrubber byproduct material handling systems; vacuum, pressure, and combination fly ash conveying systems; dense phase pressure systems and related services.

Fuel In-Feed, Conveyors

Loibl Conveyor Systems

The reliable, safe and uninterrupted supply of individual fuel for boilers is essential to power generation.  B&W provides a range of solid fuel conveyance and in-feed technologies to transport and process fuel for power, heat and process steam generation.  Fuels include coal, biomass, and waste fuels including refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and municipal solid waste (MSW).

FGD Reagent/Byproduct

Wet FGD Reagent Byproduct Conveyance

New wet flue gas desulfurization systems can be supplied with forced oxidation to produce a marketable gypsum byproduct or inhibited oxidation to eliminate the wastewater discharge stream.  B&W's material conveying systems are integrated with the FGD system to support the transport and processing of reagents, including limestone, lime or sodium, as well as gypsum byproduct.

Bulk Material Transport

Bulk Material Transport Loibl
B&W Loibl plans and manufactures a wide range of customer specific conveyance solutions for bulk materials of all types. This ranges from single conveyor belts to customized, complete, conveyance technology systems.  Applications include power, paper, steel and metal, chemical, mining, food, construction and other process industries.

B&W's Diamond Power & Allen-Sherman-Hoff Brands

Integrating our Boiler Cleaning and Ash Handling Business to Better Serve our Customers

The company and brand you recognize as "Diamond Power" entered the boiler cleaning business in 1903 and has operated as a Babcock & Wilcox company since 1922.  Today, B&W Diamond Power® boiler cleaning systems, while much more elaborate and sophisticated than they were a century ago, still serve the same purpose: to keep boilers operating at peak efficiency.

The reliability and efficiency of your operations is important to B&W.  That's why we are executing exciting changes to improve our structure to better support both new build and aftermarket parts, programs and customer service.

Trust that B&W will continue to offer the innovative and proven technologies and support for products including boiler cleaning technologies such as IK™ retractable, HydroJet ® and other boiler cleaning systems / sootblowers.

Included in the integration is B&W's Allen-Sherman-Hoff® ash and material handling solutions.  As part of our complete environmental technologies line, we continue to provide a variety of ash and material handling solutions, from completely dry bottom ash handling to fly ash and petroleum coke processing. These technologies offer environmentally sound solutions to address wet FGD (scrubber) wastewater and mitigate ash storage ponds.
