B&W continues to devote considerable resources to the development of numerical methods for design and evaluation of boiler systems. Our latest achievement is COMO-PR, the most comprehensive model available to the industry today.
COMO-PR is a cost-effective engineering, operator and management tool which allows both B&W and the recovery boiler owner to graphically visualize existing operations and investigate alternatives to designs, equipment options and ranges of operating conditions. Our engineers and scientists have designed the model to be flexible for new and retrofit applications, as well as both B&W and non-B&W recovery boilers.
Made up of eight distinct, but interacting modules, COMO-PR simulates actual operating processes within the boiler. Owners have also used the results as a training tool for operators to optimize existing recovery boiler operations.
