B&W implements radiological and industrial safety programs at its commercial nuclear facilities.
These programs have withstood the test of time and have proven highly effective in protecting our employees, the public and the environment.
In the radiological safety arena, B&W TSG Inc. has broad experience implementing programs for nearly all types of radiological environments. This experience began in the early days of nuclear research operating critical experiments and research reactors under the oversight of the Atomic Energy Commission. As the nuclear industry evolved, our experience grew into fuel fabrication using low-enriched uranium, high-enriched uranium and plutonium-mixed oxides. Ultimately, we implemented radiological safety programs for service activities at commercial and government-operated nuclear power reactors.
This broad experience base provides the foundation for today's radiological safety programs at B&W-operated commercial and DOE facilities. These programs are focused on designing systems and processes and providing monitoring systems that assure radiological exposures are maintained "As Low As Reasonably Achievable."
B&W has built a strong reputation with our government regulators for having excellent programs as evidenced by our inspection and enforcement record as well as external assessments by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In addition, we have built a solid foundation of commitment and trust with our employees and our communities.
