On April 2, 2010, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) acquired the GE Power Systems' electrostatic precipitator (ESP) aftermarket and emissions monitoring (EM) businesses. This includes both the PrecipTech and KVB-Enertec names that have become well-known in the ESP and EM industries.
The acquisition enhances our position as a leading full-service solutions provider of quality environmental original equipment, construction and aftermarket services.
These new businesses will be integrated into B&W PGG's Environmental Products and Services group, which offers an extensive portfolio of environmental solutions, including scrubbers, NOx reduction systems, mercury, air toxics and carbon control, measurement and reporting systems and particulate control for both utility and industrial customers.

B&W PGG's newly acquired ESP business unit focuses on the following aftermarket service areas:
- Electrical components, controls and software
- Mechanical components and replacement parts
- Upgrades, conversions and engineering services
- Inspections and maintenance services
B&W PGG's Emissions Monitoring business unit focuses on emissions monitoring and reporting services, including:
- Assembly and installation of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) hardware
- Data acquisition and handling systems and software support
- Remote monitoring and diagnostic services
- Coal fire detection systems
