ESP and Emissions Monitoring

On April 2, 2010, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) acquired the GE Power Systems' electrostatic precipitator (ESP) aftermarket and emissions monitoring (EM) businesses. This includes both the PrecipTech and KVB-Enertec names that have become well-known in the ESP and EM industries.

The acquisition enhances our position as a leading full-service solutions provider of quality environmental original equipment, construction and aftermarket services.

These new businesses will be integrated into B&W PGG's Environmental Products and Services group, which offers an extensive portfolio of environmental solutions, including scrubbers, NO_x reduction systems, mercury, air toxics and carbon control, measurement and reporting systems and particulate control for both utility and industrial customers.

Services

B&W PGG's newly acquired ESP business unit focuses on the following aftermarket service areas:

• Electrical components, controls and software
• Mechanical components and replacement parts
• Upgrades, conversions and engineering services
• Inspections and maintenance services

B&W PGG's Emissions Monitoring business unit focuses on emissions monitoring and reporting services, including:

• Assembly and installation of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) hardware
• Data acquisition and handling systems and software support
• Remote monitoring and diagnostic services
• Coal fire detection systems
