B&W has designed and manufactured commercial nuclear power equipment for more than 40 years, providing nuclear heat exchangers, nuclear plant services and more than 200 nuclear steam generators to customers around the world.
Our proven steam generator design boasts the lowest tube failure rate, the highest circulation rate and the best operating record in the industry.
This experience has helped us dominate the replacement nuclear steam generator market in the U.S. and worldwide, replacing units originally manufactured by other suppliers.
Built in the 1960s to support the commercial nuclear industry, the Mount Vernon (Indiana) facility provides full integration of design and fabrication of some of the world's largest ASME Code (Sections III and VIII), thick-walled pressure vessels. Other unique capabilities include state-of-the-art machine tools, a lift capacity of 1,000 tons, large gantry robots and fully integrated robotic weld positions with capacity up to 450 tons. The Mount Vernon facility is strategically located on the Ohio River supporting the ability to ship large components by barge.
A wealth of experience in servicing the nuclear industry and the development of computer controlled, robotic tooling allow us to provide unique responses to the nuclear industry's stringent service and safety requirements.
Based in Cambridge, Ontario, Babcock & Wilcox Canada is the center at which expertise, innovation, and a reputation for quality and service are the foundation for our market-leading nuclear capabilities.
