The Graphic Control System (GCS) provides the user with a set of graphically based tools.
These tools include user and system pages, which allow the operator to efficiently monitor and control plant processes and display the current status of any plant process. Time-based reports can be generated for specified system variables and process alarms.
Process graphic pages present the operator with a pictorial representation of plant process systems. B&W offers an FPS GCS System that displays equipment overviews which concisely show summaries of current operating conditions using live data. Detailed equipment graphics display information required to monitor the conditions of important plant equipment. Process control graphics provide the operator with access to control stations that allow initiation of process setpoint change and equipment start-up and/or shutdown.
The GCS comes equipped with an extensive library of custom tools, objects and live database connectivity. This functionality is furnished through a comprehensive graphics system including the display of live data in the form of process alarms, numeric values, bar graphs, trends, equipment conditions, and equipment permit requirements. Control options include start/stop stations, hand/auto stations, and Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) stations. Tools are also provided as a means of reporting process alarms in any combination of system, priority, and/or equipment groupings. In addition, trend and timed snapshot reports on a large number of process points are also available.
FPS's Graphical Control System (GCS) software runs under the Microsoft Windows™ operating system.
