FPS designs and manufactures custom control cabinet/valve train assemblies to control and supply fuel oil and atomizing air to igniters.

Valve trains can be purchased as an integrated component of an igniter control system utilizing our line of custom fabricated valves or as a stand-alone entity constructed using customer-specified components. Working directly with each customer and approval boards (CSA, NFPA, etc.), we have the ability to fabricate a fully approved assembly engineered to provide many years of service.

A control cabinet with indicators and switches for local or remote operation is mounted on the valve train. The control cabinet can be supplied with or without a programmable logic controller (PLC). If a PLC is supplied, igniter controls logic is provided using proven igniter control schemes to ensure optimum igniter performance. The controls are customized to interface with existing burner controls; receiving start, stop, and permit signals from the BMS, and providing igniter status signals to the BMS.

Each valve train is pressure-tested and includes factory-installed instrument air lines to a bulkhead fitting, and wiring between the valve train components and the control cabinet. Field installation time is minimized since the rack-mounted systems are pre-assembled, pre-wired and factory-tested prior to shipment.

Control cabinet/valve rack features are:

Single Igniter Assemblies for Corner-Fired Applications

B&W/FPS designs and manufactures a compact igniter control cabinet/valve assembly especially designed for installations where it is preferable to have one control cabinet per igniter, as is traditional on corner-fired boilers. This assembly offers the same advantages as mentioned above.

The single igniter control cabinet/valve assembly features cabinet-mounted valves to supply fuel oil and atomizing air to the igniter being controlled by the cabinet.
