FPS designs and manufactures custom skid-mounted blower assemblies that supply clean combustion air for igniters and cooling air for flame scanners.
Skid-mounted combination starter assemblies for local or automatic control are available as an option. The duplex blower assembly is a commonly supplied arrangement; however, individual and triplex blower assemblies are also available. The duplex blower assembly consists of two 100-percent capacity fans, with switches and indicators to allow automatic switchover to the secondary fan if the primary fan is lost. All blower assemblies are pre-wired and factory-tested prior to shipment. Typically, blowers are supplied with isolation mechanisms such as manual butterfly valves and check valves, or with automatic butterfly valves. Typical blower specifications include:
- Skid-mounted direct drive TEFC standard efficiency motors
- Check valve and butterfly isolation valve on each blower outlet
- Common discharge pipe with flanged outlet
- Inlet filter-silencer
- Pressure switch for "dirty filter" indication
- Pressure switch to monitor discharge pressure
- Factory pre-piped air connections to pressure switches
- Circuit breaker-type full voltage combination starter assemblies in NEMA 4 enclosures, each with switches and indicators as required to allow local control and monitoring of blower operation. Starters are factory-mounted on the blower skid and wired such that loss of discharge pressure of the operating blower will automatically cause the standby blower to start.
- Factory pre-wired electrical connections between motors, starters and pressure switches
