Since 1971, B&W has sold more than 120,000 MW of low NOx combustion systems (more than 8,000 burners) in both new and retrofit boiler applications. Our low NOx burner technology has been successfully applied to a broad range of our own and non-B&W units with varying fuel characteristics and boiler arrangements.
Our combustion and overfire air systems can be installed on all wall-fired and corner-fired steam generators. Our burner technology can be applied to both single and opposed-wall boiler configurations.
Our latest and most advanced coal-fired burner designs, the DRB-4Z® and the AireJetTM low NOx burners offer significant NOx reduction capabilities across the full range of wall-fired boiler configurations and combustion firing patterns.
These low NOx burners can be used with overfire air and other low NOx technologies, such as selective catalytic reduction, to achieve even greater overall NOx reduction. Rugged construction offers superior mechanical reliability and operation. Each burner is shop-assembled and mechanically tested before shipment. Complete shop assembly permits easy field installation.
