B&W Consolidates Commercial Nuclear Operations into Single Business Unit
LYNCHBURG, Va., April 5, 2010
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) announces it is combining two of its business units into a single organization to accelerate its growth in the commercial nuclear power sector. Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Energy, Inc. will be formed through the combination of B&W Nuclear Power Generation Group, Inc. and B&W Modular Nuclear Energy, LLC. Christofer M. Mowry, currently the President and CEO of B&W Modular Nuclear Energy, has been named President of the new organization. The consolidation is expected to be effective in April 2010.

"The company has recently attracted strong U.S. and global interest in our B&W mPower™ small modular reactor. We have also expanded our business activities in the U.S. nuclear services market over the past two years. Integrating our two existing commercial nuclear business units will enable B&W to further strengthen our portfolio of solutions for new and existing customers as the industry resurgence continues across North America and internationally."
B&W Nuclear Energy will be headquartered in Charlotte, N.C, with supporting operations in existing B&W locations in Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana, as well as Ontario, Canada.
