Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group signs boiler technology license agreement with India-based Thermax Ltd.

BARBERTON, Ohio, March 25, 2008 Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG), has signed a contract with Thermax Ltd. to license B&W's Radiant boiler technology to the India-based energy and environmental engineering company.

Under the terms of the 15-year licensing agreement, B&W PGG will allow Thermax to engineer, manufacture and sell B&W subcritical pressure Radiant boilers in India.

The boilers will be used to generate steam in thermal power plants, primarily owned by independent power producers. The units can be designed to fire a variety of fossil fuels.

"B&W PGG has extensive experience in designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing more than 700 Radiant boilers worldwide and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring our leading technology to India through this agreement," said B&W PGG President and Chief Operating Officer Brandon Bethards.

B&W utility boilers installed worldwide generate more than 300,000 MW of electric power.
