George E. Dials named executive vice president, B&W Technical Services Group, Inc.
LYNCHBURG, Va., February 5, 2008 Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. (B&W TSG) is pleased to announce the appointment of George E. Dials to executive vice president, effective immediately. In this position, Mr. Dials is responsible for developing and operating business initiatives in the nuclear fuel cycle, executing targeted acquisitions for B&W TSG, assisting with the implementation of strategic initiatives for the operating group and assisting The Babcock & Wilcox Company in examining various business opportunities and strategies. Mr. Dials most recently served as president and chief executive officer, Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn., where he was responsible for the facility's management and operations. Mr. Dials will remain in Oak Ridge where he will conduct business from the B&W TSG corporate office.

While at Y-12, Mr. Dials oversaw the construction of the site's Highly Enriched Uranium Materials Facility (HEUMF), which is currently on schedule for completion. He established a strong relationship with the Oak Ridge community and was committed to stewardship.
Mr. Dials has nearly 30 years of experience in the energy field, with more than 15 years dedicated to the nuclear industry. During his career, he oversaw M&O contractor design, engineering and scientific studies of the Yucca Mountain Project while with TRW Environmental Safety Systems Inc. As Manager of the DOE Carlsbad area office, he managed the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant project and the National Transuranic Waste Program.
Darrel P. Kohlhorst, senior vice president and chief operating officer for B&W Technical Services Y-12, will assume management responsibilities for the Y-12 National Security Complex, replacing Mr. Dials.
