Mr. Winfred D. Nash is President of Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (B&W NOG) headquartered in Lynchburg,Va. B&W NOG manufactures specialty components for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Previously Mr. Nash served as President of BWX Technologies, Inc. Nuclear Operations Division, an organization that comprised the company's owned and operated manufacturing facilities in Virginia, Ohio and Indiana. In 2007, the company expanded with its acquisition of Marine Mechanical Corporation in Euclid, Ohio.
Mr. Nash began his professional career in 1966 with the Nuclear Operations Division in Lynchburg as an inspector in the Ultrasonic Inspection area of Quality Control. As his career advanced, Mr. Nash was promoted to Foreman and later, Supervisor. Mr. Nash went on to hold senior management positions at the Lynchburg manufacturing facility. Among those positions included Manager of Program Management; Quality Control; and Operations. Mr. Nash went on to be appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Lynchburg facility.
Mr. Nash earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University and a Master's in Business Administration from Duke's Fuqua Business School. He also attended the Advanced Executive Management training at Northeastern University.
Mr. Nash is active in both his community and professional associations. During his career, he has served or participated in the U.S. Navy League and the U.S Naval Submarine League; Region 2000-Advanced Manufacturing Technology Association; Appomattox County School Board; Junior Achievement of Central Virginia; Appomattox Industrial Development Authority; Airplane Owner's Pilot Association; and the Lynchburg Chapter of the American Red Cross.
