The Babcock & Wilcox plant in West Point, Miss., was established in 1952, and is a major employer in northeast Mississippi.

Part of The Babcock and Wilcox Company, the plant specializes in the fabrication of products used in the power generation industry, including furnace wall panels, complete cyclone furnace assemblies, longflow economizers and generating banks, heat recovery steam generators, FM package boilers, and related mechanical and structural components.

The plant, located on 158 acres, encompasses approximately 500,000 square feet of fabrication area. It employs 480 hourly and 90 salaried workers.

The products fabricated at the facility serve the electric utility, pulp and paper, and other industries.
